NoSleepLab is a product line of Mark Studios, LLC, a Florida limited liability company, which publishes these apps and this website and is responsible for this page (“we”, “us”). Contact: contact@markstudios.com · 7901 4th St N, Ste 300, St. Petersburg, FL 33702, USA.

NoSleepLab builds Mac apps, iPhone apps, hosted web apps and a game, and runs this website. They handle data in different ways, so this policy takes them one at a time. Where an app has its own privacy policy — the iPhone apps, BEAROUT and Watchdog — that policy has the detail and is the one that applies to that app.

The Mac apps

No telemetry, no analytics, no crash reporting, no accounts, and no server of ours. Settings and data stay on your Mac, and deleting the app deletes them. A few go online for one feature you turn on: Canary checks breach data with Have I Been Pwned and sends only the first characters of a hash, never the password; HookCut and DevLaunch can send audio or text to an AI provider — OpenAI, Anthropic or Google — to do the job you asked for. Each app's page says what it touches.

The iPhone apps

ReceiptLog, Vitality, Workout, BabyHQ and SwipeClean keep your data on your iPhone: no account, no analytics, no advertising and no server of ours. Purchases are made through Apple, which handles payment. Two optional features go online: Vitality's AI features send what you scan to Anthropic using an API key you supply, and ReceiptLog's receipt scanning sends the photo to Google's Gemini. Each app has its own privacy policy with the details.

The hosted web apps and BEAROUT

These run on a server, so they keep what their feature needs. FableWatch and ArtificialWatch keep the email address — and, on a paid plan, the phone number — you give them for alerts; FableWatch's payments go through Stripe. Tide keeps your tasks on its server if you sign in to sync. BEAROUT works without an account; signing in, through Clerk, keeps your save on its server and puts your name on the leaderboard, and its iOS build shows opt-in rewarded ads from Google AdMob. None of them carries analytics or tracking beyond what is named here.

This website

Two forms collect what you type into them: the "tell me when it ships" field, which takes an email address, and the app suggestion form. Both are delivered to the address at the bottom of this page — through Formspree, or as a draft in your own mail client that you choose whether to send. An email address given for release notices is used for release notices, is never sold or shared, and is removed on request. Otherwise the site collects nothing: no analytics, no advertising, no tracking pixels, and no cookies to consent to. It is hosted on Vercel, which keeps the standard server logs any web host does.

Who else handles data

Every third party involved anywhere, and what for. We sell nothing to anyone.

Legal basis, retention, your rights and transfers

Legal basis: your consent for release-notice and alert emails and for optional sign-in; the contract with you for paid plans; our legitimate interest in running a leaderboard you choose to join and in keeping the services secure.

How long we keep it: release-notice emails until the app ships or you ask us to remove them; FableWatch and ArtificialWatch alert emails and phone numbers until you unsubscribe, after which only the email is kept on a suppression list so we never email you again; BEAROUT saves, leaderboard entries and friend links until you delete your account; payment records for 7 years for tax reasons; server logs for up to 30 days.

Your rights: you can ask us to access, correct, delete or export your data, object to processing based on legitimate interests, and withdraw consent at any time, by emailing the address below. We reply within one month. If you are in the EEA, UK or Switzerland you can also complain to your data protection authority.

Transfers: our providers (Vercel, Clerk, Upstash, Formspree, Stripe, Apple, Google) process data in the United States. Transfers from the EEA, UK or Switzerland rely on the EU-US Data Privacy Framework where the provider is certified, or on the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses.

Permissions

Some apps ask for system permissions — Accessibility, Screen Recording, Camera, Photos. They are used only for the feature that needs them, and you can review or revoke them any time in System Settings › Privacy & Security on a Mac, or Settings › Privacy & Security on an iPhone.

Children

The apps are not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Changes

If this policy changes, the new version is posted here with an updated date.
