About Haze

Haze is built to work out which display you are actually looking at and dim the rest of them. It follows the focused window through the Accessibility APIs and lays a dimming overlay over every monitor that is not in use, lifting it again as focus moves. How far they dim is yours to set, from a hint to nearly dark, and the whole thing is driven from a menu bar item — the aim being less glare at the edge of your vision, and less power drawn by screens nobody is reading.

Who it's for

Multi-monitor users who want to reduce eye strain and visual distraction.

What it does

  • Active display detection via window focus
  • Dimming overlay over every monitor that is not in focus
  • Customizable dimming levels
  • Minimal menu bar interface
