Drop a folder of rushes on it and get the total runtime before you quote the edit
Footage Calculator scans a folder and totals the duration of every video and audio file inside it. It reads durations through AVFoundation, so anything macOS can play is counted — ProRes, H.264, HEVC, MXF and the usual audio formats; camera-raw files such as RED and BRAW are listed but not timed. Get a clean category-based breakdown of videos, audio, images, and other files with formatted duration totals. Drag a folder in and the totals come back without an import step or a project file.
Video editors and filmmakers who need to total footage duration quickly.
The code is public, but there's no packaged release yet. Build it from the repository today, or leave an email and hear when there's one you can double-click.
